Recuperation units
A healthy environment is where it is well ventilated. However, it is now proven that humans spend almost 80% of their time indoors. Proportionally, the danger of exposure to germs – bacteria or viruses or the concentration of carbon dioxide, dust, pollen and other pollutants that are demonstrably harmful to health increases. Thanks to controlled ventilation with efficient filtration and a heat exchanger, you will always have fresh, healthy and pollutant-free air in your home without losing heat through ventilation. In buildings with different demands on ventilation due to the diversity of the different operations (hospitals, laboratories or kitchens), a balanced airflow is particularly necessary to prevent unwanted odours from spreading and moisture from forming in the space.
The current Building Act of the Slovak Republic takes into account the reduction of energy losses, especially in the construction sector, and places emphasis on new buildings with energy class A0. In a figurative sense, this means that the annual primary energy consumption of a house must not exceed 54 kWh/m2. There are a number of options to get to this goal. Of course, the use of quality building materials with thermal insulation properties comparable to insulated masonry is a matter of course. However, another aid is the controlled ventilation technology with heat recovery.
The principle of recuperation:
When several people are in a closed room for a long period of time, the need for a constant supply of fresh air becomes essential. Under such conditions, it is necessary to extract the worn air from the room and replace it with fresh air in sufficient quantities to maintain the necessary amount of oxygen and to remove the bulk of the pollutants. When worn air is vented to the outdoors in an airtight building envelope, unwanted heat loss can occur. We can significantly reduce such heat leakage and the associated increased energy demands on the air conditioner by using an air-to-air heat exchanger, through which we can transfer the exhaust air and bring in fresh air at the same time. To achieve efficient extraction and distribution of different air streams, four air ducts are connected to the unit.
